Ty Burrell
Ty Burrell, star of ABC’s Modern Family, has easily become my favorite comedic performer working on television today. He is unbelievably brilliant! Please. Do yourself a favor and check out every episode of Modern Family. It is my favorite show on television right now. I must admit it has replaced 30 Rock for the top spot. Is it just me or does 30 Rock suck ass this season? What is going on with Tina Fey? She is relying on moronic frat boy humor for laughs and it’s not working. We want the old Tina back. You know? The nerdy smart Tina? Where is she? Come back, Tina! Come back! The Office is still staying strong in the laugh department. I was worried the wedding of Jim and Pam would ruin the show’s momentum, but nope. Steve Carell is still as insane as ever. Big props to the Halloween episode this season. When Michael Scott was hanging from the rafters… Hilarious! Another show worth mentioning is HBO’s Bored to Death. It stars two of my favorite performers on the planet: Jason Schwartzman and Zack Galifiniakis who, sadly, aren’t my favorite actors on the show. Actually, to me, the funniest person on Bored to Death is a silver-haired Ted Danson. Honestly, this is probably the best character of Danson’s career. Yes. Better than Becker. He plays a pretentious, pot-head, book publisher who is terribly afraid of getting old. He has my favorite lines on the show. He totally owns his character more than the others. He is truly phenomenal. Check him out. Finally, one last acting shout-out goes to Dan Byrd who stars as Travis on ABC’s Cougar Town. He is the ONLY reason that I watch that show. He is freaking genius! I wish that he and Ty Burrell would get their own sketch comedy show and create comedic genius together! If only… (sigh).
In other news… Travis Wall (dancer/choreographer) has done it again on SYTYCD. His piece this week was exceptional. Watch it below:
The dancers are Ellenore Scott and Ryan Di Lello. They have moved on to next week.
Finally, dear readers, I wanted to remind you all that John McIntire’s Dangerously Live Comedy Talk Show will be happening this Saturday night at 10PM at The Cabaret Theater in the heart of Pittsburgh’s Cultural Trust. Panelists include: Sam Bennett (PG Columnist), Sean Collier (WDVE Film Critic), Maria Lupinacci (2PJ’s) and ME (da Gab). Tickets cost only a mere $5. More information below:

Thanks for pointing out Travis Wall’s contribution to this week’s show. What an amazing talent that guy is! Ellenore & Ryan were flawless.
I totally agree, BBB. I think Travis has filled the HUGE gap that Mia left. His choreography is so powerful and Ellenore and Ryan were perfect! That ten second hold, when they are just looking at each other was incredible.
Woo-hoo!! “BBB” has caught on! I mean, at least in the weirdo Blognesso world….
In other news:
Ty Burrell is hilarious! But you have to give props to Julie Bowen for playing a great “straight man”!
Elizabeth Banks KILLED me! “You should kill her.”
Loved Travis’ “coming out” speech to Paper Buddy.
Also loved Travis Walls’ dance on Tues. I wonder when Ashleigh will realize that her husband is gay? “Far From Heaven” anyone?
Ty Burrell could not have played the following characters:
Howard Borden
Gordy the Sportscaster
Meathead
Dr. or Mrs. Bellows
Rhett Butler
Screech
Otherwise, he’s fine. It’s like the dry cleaner always says: “More steam, Zeke?” To which I always reply, “Hop Sing, I’m a blazer. Are you funking retarded, bro?”
