Last Night Was Really Fun!!!
Hey yinz!!! Happy Gay Pride!!! Speaking of Gay Pride, Ellen DeGeneres just won her fourth Emmy in a row for Best Daytime Talk Show Host(crushing Reege and The View four years in a row, bitches!!! Four years in a row!!!).
In other news, I had two shows last night. The first one was at Slapsticks Comedy Loft (which is quickly becoming one of my favorite venues in the region). The show was produced by my buddy, Johnny Mac and he called it “The Tasteless Comedy Show”–which was pretty perfect for me. I was honored with the privilege to close the show which is generally a blast and last night it was. The audience was great. They even tolerated me at my sickest. They allowed me to work out a new bit on them. I thought they were great. I had a really, really fun time. So much fun that I was sure that my next show would have to be a let down. The next show was the final night of the Green Collar Comedy Tour at The Pittsburgh Playwright’s Theater downtown. I was concerned that turn-out would be low because it had been the previous two nights. When we got to the venue at 10:58 (with the show supposed to start at 11PM)and there was no one in the audience. We waited until 11:15 and by then 9 people had arrived (including national actor Ken Belden who is currently starring in The Public Theater’s “The Odd Couple”). Anyway, for a small house they rocked my shit!!! I had so much fun playing for them too. I couldn’t believe it. They were the first audience to understand my Santeria reference. I was so pleased. I was starting to get worried that I was the only person in Pittsburgh who was aware of Afro-Caribbean Magic. I mean, Jesus! Who doesn’t know all about that shizz? Anyhoot, all in all, both shows were great.
Don’t forget that tonight is the big Club Cafe show starting at 10:30PM!!!! Tickets are $7.00.
